Casement

Casement units are units that can have one or two leafs that open inwards (in-swing) or outwards (out-swing). The choice of in or out-swing is purely personal both have advantages, in-swing units (traditional in Europe) are easy to clean and maintain, require less hardware, and are less subject to wind. Out-swing windows are more traditional in Britain and the US offer a cleaner look from the inside. In-swing units can be easily fitted with tilt & turn hardware to allow dual usage as explained here.
